You’ve done it and it’s been done to you.  “give me a second.  I just need to grab a pen”.  Making someone wait to interact with them because one is unprepared is at best a lesson in patience and at worst is totally maddening.  A slew of note taking apps have cropped up in recent years and some of them are so useful, they almost rival notepad in their use.  I’ve been running meetings and taking meeting notes for a long time and one of the reasons I never totally abandoned notepad was you can open it without any wait time whatsoever and you don’t have to fuss with formatting.  It’s just really easy.  So when Salesforce rolled out Notes functionality and allowed you to take notes that were a) auto-saved and b) could be attached to one or more records in your application – I jumped at the opportunity to use it.

Be sure to turn on Notes when you make the move to Lightning Experience.  And if you need help moving to Lightning, make sure you call Greener Pastures.  We’ll be ready to take notes…
